Douglas Garcia, Class of 1997, was born in San Miguel, El Salvador, as the youngest of five Garcia brothers who came to the United States in search of opportunity. Doug followed a strong family tradition of recognizing the value of hard work and education. His father worked first as a dishwasher, then chef, and later opened his own family restaurant where Doug and his brothers helped out when they were not studying.
The Scholarship Fund awarded nearly $400,000 to 201 students in the T. C. Williams Class of 2009. Click here to see the list of recipients.
