Gregory Hutchings has always given of himself to his community.
As a T.C. student, Gregory received an Alexandria City Volunteer
Award. He continued on to Old Dominion University, with aid from
the Scholarship Fund. While there, his community service activities
earned him the university's Barbara Jordan Community Service Award.
Most recently, Gregory has received the Christopher Wren Scholarship
from the College of William and Mary for his commitment to education.
Gregory earned a Master of Education degree from George Mason
and is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Policy, Planning, and
Leadership at the College of William and Mary. He is currently an
assistant principal at Falling Creek Middle School in Chesterfield
County. His life ambition is to become the U.S. Secretary of Education and
to open a K-12 public charter school for African American males, with a
focus on character education, math, science, and leadership.
Gregory is thankful to The Scholarship Fund for the assistance
it gave him to further his education, and he believes it deserves the
utmost support from the community to help make "hopes and dreams come
true" for students like himself.
