Elizabeth Stief O’Shaughnessy 2007

Elizabeth Stief O'Shaughnessy is a pediatric neuropsychologist practicing in the Boston area. She specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of preschool and school-aged children with a wide range of medical and neurobehavioral concerns. Elizabeth received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology and completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She also holds a bachelor's degree in human biology and a master's degree in education from Stanford University. Prior to becoming a pediatric neuropsychologist, Elizabeth was a Head Start teacher in the Washington, D.C. public schools and an educational researcher and consultant.

While at T.C. Williams, Elizabeth explored a wide range of interests and activities. She was an active member of the swim, field hockey, and crew teams  and was co-captain of the cheerleading squad. A National Merit Semifinalist, she played piano, danced, tutored disabled students and spent summers working as a lifeguard and swim coach. Elizabeth says that the scholarships from the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria were the critical factor that allowed her to attend Stanford, her top college choice. She credits her teachers at T.C. Williams with helping to prepare her for the rigors of higher education. Elizabeth is married and has an 18-month-old son.
